Saadiq is executive music producer of Disney Branded Television's
"Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur," based on Marvel's hit comic
books. A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer, Saadiq is
known for his deep musicality, contemporary creative vision and
encyclopedic knowledge of timeless pop and R&B music. Proven to be a
go-to source of musical collaboration, he has produced and co-written
hits for some of today's trailblazing artists, including Justin
Timberlake, Elton John, Mick Jagger, John Legend, Solange Knowles and
Mary J. Blige. To date, he is credited as a producer and composer for
over 1,000 songs. In 1988, Saadiq formed the group Tony! Toni! Toné!
with his brother and cousin. They enjoyed considerable success on
radio and MTV with several hits, including "If I Had No Loot," "Feels
Good" and "It Never Rains in Southern California." They released four
platinum studio albums and received a GRAMMY Award nomination for Best
R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. His solo career kicked off
with his 2008 homage to Motown and Philly soul, "The Way I See It,"
and its follow-up, "Stone Rollin'," which landed on many year-end Top
10 Best Albums lists. As his solo career thrived, Saadiq honed in on
his craft as a producer, working with a wide range of artists,
including Snoop Dogg, TLC, Kelis, Erykah Badu and Bobby V. Among the
many superstars who have tapped him to play bass or guitar on high
profile projects, Lady Gaga scouted Saadiq to play at the 2016 GRAMMY
Awards in her memorable tribute to David Bowie. In 2017, Saadiq
collaborated with Mary J. Blige as a songwriter for the film
"Mudbound," for which they both received Academy Award nominations for
Best Original Song. In 2012, he was named one of Time Magazine's Top
100 Most Influential People. He has served as the musical supervisor
and/or composer for numerous series and films, including "Insecure,"
"Lovecraft Country," "L.A.'s Finest," "Underground" and National
Geographic's "Genius: Aretha." Saadiq received a Golden Globe® Award
nomination in the Best Original Song category for "Tigress & Tweed"
from "The United States vs. Billie Holiday" soundtrack. Born in
Oakland, California, Saadiq currently resides in Los Angeles.
